Worked on same as yesterday and day before. What I'm striving to do--I see it now--is get the pacing fast, the writing tight, and the story moving quickly, without giving up what I like to do and what draws me to write in the first place. Plot + character: quite a chunk to chew on, for me. Am I getting this whittled down and working? Don't know. Must be patient: three steps forward, two steps back, as long as it takes till I get it right.
